WHAT: Oren Lavie celebrates his Grammy nomination for "Best Short Form Music Video" for his song "Her Morning Elegance," with a live performance and photography exhibit at Bergamot Station kicking off Grammy weekend. The exhibit will showcase a selection of photographs by photographer Eyal Landesman that, when pieced together, create this celebrated music video. This event also marks the launch of the new website for "Her Morning Elegance" www.hmegallery.com, an online gallery exhibiting the 2,096 individual photographs from the video. The website allows viewers to break the motion of the video and freeze the moment as single edition fine art prints; which will be available for purchase.
"Her Morning Elegance" has been viewed on YouTube over 10 million times, making it a pop culture phenomenon. The music video was created using stop motion photography technique with 2,096 still photographs, shot and sequenced to create the feeling of motion. After going from stills to motion, the artists decided to break the motion back to its still form and exhibit the individual photographs in gallery exhibitions worldwide throughout the next year - the next events are planned for New York and Tel-Aviv. Once the very last photo is sold, the video will have been broken to its pieces, spread worldwide and hung in 2,096 houses, bedrooms, living rooms and galleries.
OREN LAVIE is a singer, songwriter, playwright, director, author of funny books for children.He has written and produced his debut album 'The Opposite Side of The Sea' which was released in the US in 2009 on his own label, A Quarter Past Wonderful. He produced and co-directed the Grammy nominated music video for the song 'Her Morning Elegance'. Oren is currently working on a new book for children and a new album.
EYAL LANDESMAN has always been drawn to the exploration of the borders between imagination, illusion and documentary work through photography. Throughout his career he has pushed the boundaries of conventional photography, both in time and space, with the use of diverse technologies and presentation forms. Landesman's work has been published in numerous periodicals and presented in art galleries and exhibitions around the world.
